XD Yeeeah, that was kinda why I stopped it there - I don't know what he could give up. He doesn't have any clothes/special items to give up, his magic would not be enough to cover whatever he got in return; maybe if he gave up his fighting strength... Yeah, pretty much certified he'd lose. Giving up his memories would make things moot point because then he'd forget that he was fighting Luca. ... Maybe. Luca would still come after him though. Memories of Luca?

The most important thing to Jim is his heart. But he really does treasure the memories he has of the people who's helped him. So... if Jim was able to beat Luca, he'd have to give that half of his heart to Yuuko? Which I'm guessing would make him immortal. And I don't think Yuuko would agree with that.

... Oh.

Jim's already paid the price - time, freedom and friendship(?), hasn't he? He's paid that ten times over. Does it still count if he pays it before the contract (X__X Still thinking in terms of PSoH)?

Now to just think about something that Yuuko could actually give to him. =/

I was wondering about that. Reading the chapters for the nth time (*snerk*), well, at the start, Jim doesn't know what Luca looks like. And he's been around before at least once, before the series starts. But then Luca says that speech thing about the spell being used as an evaluative tool, so that means that Jim's 'only', at the very least, just over five hundred years old. (o.O Wtf technology? How come you aren't progressing?) So it definitely means that having half a heart with that spell makes a person immortal and since Jim didn't know any of Luca's characteristics, Luca can change the way that he looks. Not to mention the whole growing up from a baby thing with the king. Unless the king 'sent' his son off to grow up somewhere else to learn their way or something.

Um. Yeah. (Please be short enough for a comment)
