Oh, so even though Marland isn't part of the government hunting groups, he's sort of helping them out on his own, so he still has some sort of contact with the ones who work with the government? Or do Hunters get to act on their own (so they're not exactly government affiliated, they just have the disk-things?). But ah, so they were there for the body. I kind of thought at first that they were going to help Marland, but then they didn't do anything to help, and Marland left just like that. XD

Hm, is Laris much older? Nav sounds fairly young. :3 I'm really curious how Laris and Marland met in the first place! And is he one of the few handful of people who didn't react violently to Marland when he first saw him? :3 Maybe that's plot related. XD
