Searching [Romance AU]
Fandom: Original fiction
Summary: Shodin is sick. Marland is mostly his usual self.
Rating: K
Notes: Set some time after Morning After. (Though in the original verse, Searching started on the twelfth of July, but these timelines aren't exactly parallel to each other.)
Haaahaha. It should be Shodin's turn now, right? XD;
Genre: Romance
Word count: 250
Status: Complete.
"You are an idiot, you know that?"
Shodin merely blew his nose into the tissue and lobbed it into the pile of other used tissues on the bedside table. He curled up around Marland's waist, making a small groaning noise.
"It's July. How do you get a cold in July?" Marland ranted as he brushed his fingers through Shodin's hair.
"Because I can," was the muffled reply. Shodin turned his head towards wherever Marland's fingers went, sighing.
Marland grumbled as he glanced around the room. Warm afternoon sunlight streamed in through the window, like it hadn't rained for twelve hours straight the day before. They hadn't gone out yesterday and Shodin was like this! How had he managed that?
Shodin's hand flopped onto Marland's lap and he took it, intertwining their fingers; Shodin's hand was warm and clammy. Marland reached back to adjust the blanket around Shodin's shoulders.
"Mmm. I want chocolate."
Marland eyed him and Shodin chuckled before he started coughing again.
"I'm hungry," Shodin croaked as an explanation once he'd finished.
"There's better things than chocolate when you're sick," Marland muttered as he made a face. Ugh.
Shodin mumbled something in reply, but it was completely unintelligible.
"Just go to sleep already." Then he might be able to make Shodin something, if Shodin let go of his hand.
Deep breathing filled the room a couple of seconds later and Marland sighed as Shodin's hand didn't loosen. Looked like he was going to sit there until Shodin woke up.
