Rai took a deep breath, his eyes fluttering open. This time, he wasn't enclosed on all sides, a soft bed below him, thick covers on top. The lights attached to the ceiling were dimmed, soft enough to illuminate and not be harsh.

He sat up slowly, trying to recall his last memory. Frankenstein had wanted him to hibernate, the last fight taking too big a toll on his body, and he had finally acquiesced his request.

If that was it… Rai glanced around the room, looking around more carefully. It looked exactly the same as his bedroom, even down to the light scent of whatever Frankenstein used to clean.

He hadn't been moved this time.

There was suddenly clattering outside his door before it stopped, hushed whispers seeping in. Even though he didn't know what was being said, Rai still recognised the voices and he relaxed.

His door burst open, Tao striding in, Frankenstein only a step behind him, a panicked expression on his face. There was a commotion after that, M-21, Takeo, Regis and Seira joining in in their own, unique way, one that Rai couldn't understand. But he didn't need words or to connect to their minds to know that he was home.
