"Hey," Tao said, leaning over the back of the couch, grinning at M-21. M-21 hadn't realised he'd catalogued Tao's footsteps approaching him, unsurprised when Tao did that – it just hadn't registered that he had to check what Tao was doing, like he would have done if it had been anyone who wasn't from the house. Which was good because he would have spilled his tea down his front if he'd flinched.

"What movie do you want to watch?" Tao continued without any preamble, holding out his pocket computer for M-21 to look at what Tao had picked out.

Snorting softly to himself, M-21 glanced over the list before saying, "Do I get to know what these are about before I choose?"

"But then that'd spoil what happens!" Tao flailed, leaving M-21 to wait until his hand stilled again.

That…made some sense, M-21 had to admit. Looking over the list again, M-21 asked, "How many do I need to pick?" There were a couple of titles that seemed interesting.

"Hm, dunno – about six?"

…

M-21 stared up at Tao incredulously, who blinked down at him, his smile softer. "Are we staying up the whole night?" It was a Saturday night so they wouldn't have to worry about work in the morning, but it seemed out the blue.

"Maaaybe?" Tao tilted his head at him. "Kinda depends on what happens."

Okay, there was definitely something else going on. M-21 didn't say anything, waiting for Tao to explain.

Tao shifted on his feet slightly. "Do you know what tonight is?"

Tonight? M-21 tried to remember if there was something important tied to the date, anniversaries or holidays, but nothing came to mind, especially anything that would explain the need to stay up. "No."

Tao peered at him. "Oh, I'd-" He shrugged. "It's the full moon tonight."

The full – M-21 couldn't stop his breathy chuckle. "I'm not going to change tonight." He'd had his heart for years and there had only been one instance where his body had changed without him initiating it.

"Really?"

"Really," he repeated. M-21 glanced back at the movie list, confusion rising in him. Something didn't match up. "What do movies have to do with it?"

"Weeell," Tao drew out, grinning again, "if we watched movies all night, that means me an' Takeo would be around if you did wolf out, and if you didn't, we get to watch movies all night! It's a win-win situation."

M-21 froze. Wait, what. "But if I did transform, that would put you and Takeo in danger!" M-21 choked out, whirling around and gaping at Tao. That close, they wouldn't have any warning; he could just reach over with his claws and…!

Tao nudged him with an elbow, not affected by his words. "We aren't that easy to kill and who knows, maybe werewolf-you prefers popcorn to human flesh!"

M-21 slumped against the sofa, resting his forehead on the leather. That – just – was so Tao.

"Good thing we're not ever going to find out," he muttered into the sofa.

Tao chuckled. "Well, now we know – but you still have to pick what else we're watching tonight," he said, waving the pocket computer again.

"Fine…" With a small smile, M-21 lifted his head away from the sofa and started to make his selection.

Haha, I often go into movies not knowing what to expect. Which is strange, since I'm the type who likes to read the back of a book to figure out where it's going, and my eyes often stray further on in novels so I know what to expect... XD;; Soooo, M-21 blindly picked movies just based on the titles? I wonder what the selection was~

There were a couple of vampire movies thrown in; I'm still undecided about werewolf ones. Everyone else in the house ended up watching because of their eventual loud msting/~~flailing~~. XDDD
