M-21 furrowed his eyebrows as he woke up. Tao and Takeo were with him but...
"…Shit." He shifted his shoulders, but that was all he could move when Tao's cables were wrapped all around him. He flexed again, putting a bit more pressure behind it and Tao's cables loosened to let him, but as soon as he relaxed, the cables curled around him again. They didn't dig in hard enough to leave marks or hurt him, just enough to be felt. Almost like a hug, if Tao had much thinner arms and no bones.
"Mm?" M-21 heard Takeo exhale on the other side of Tao. "What’s wrong?"
M-21 snorted. "Tao left you alone?" That had to be why Takeo was asking.
A pause and M-21 heard Takeo try to move. "Ah. No, he didn’t.”
M-21 snorted again, one side of his mouth twisting up into a smirk before he focused on Tao. "Oi." He would have nudged Tao, but he couldn't roll over. "Wake up."
Tao didn't respond. His eyelids didn't even flicker.
"I think he went to bed at three," Takeo murmured with a sigh.
"Fuck." Of course he did. Because this was Tao and he never went to bed before twelve unless one of them dragged him to it. "So we're stuck here." They had to wait until Tao woke up again. They could force themselves out, but it was the weekend; they didn't have anywhere they needed to be anyway.
"He doesn't sleep for that long." M-21 could hear the amusement in Takeo's voice.
"Long enough," M-21 grumbled. "But it'll give us enough time to try and figure out how to stop him next time."
And if they couldn't, maybe their talking would wake Tao up, and he would have a better idea of what to do.
