The door closed, shutting out all of the outside noise. “My, wasn’t that brave of you, young master?”

Ciel turned away. “Brave?” he repeated.

“Protecting Lady Elizabeth with your body,” Sebastian elaborated. “Did you think you would be a good enough meal for the bear that it would leave her alone?”

“Hmph.” Ciel started walking, his cane and shoes echoing throughout the hall; he followed. “No.”

“Oh?” He smiled, waiting to see if he would get an answer.

Ciel stopped, and looked at him over his shoulder. “You were there.” And that was all that was needed to be said.
