"Reindeer…" Daisuke said slowly, his eyes narrowed. "Why are the reins red?"
They were currently at Daisuke's house, Rihito there because, again, Daisuke had carelessly called him over. Rihito was making sure Miyuki would have something that had taste when she came back from school.
Rihito's response to the question was to smile at Daisuke, though he could feel his cheeks going red. "I'm in heat." It felt like his entire body was buzzing, so full of energy, but he didn't have anything to do with it. His only outlet was to smile, have a bounce in his step. He knew Daisuke had noticed, probably as soon as he'd seen him, but he couldn't stop.
In some ways, it was like he had been given an order by Daisuke; he did, however, have more physical control over himself compared to that, but his mental processes were also affected, almost like a compromise.
"Heat," Daisuke repeated, absolutely no inflection in his voice.
He nodded, pushing his glasses up his nose. "It happens every spring."
"…You're going to be like this every spring?" Daisuke prodded at the contents of a pot.
Rihito glowered at him, and then smacked his hand away with a spoon. "Yes." It wasn't exactly something he could help!
Eyebrows raised, Daisuke took his eyes away from the food and looked him up and down. "You're going to sparkle every year?"
"Yes." The glower turned into a glare, daring him to comment.
Daisuke breathed a sigh of relief, eyes closing for a second.
…That wasn't what Rihito was expecting. "What?" he asked cautiously.
"It was weird seeing you smile like that."
Rihito frowned. "You prefer me not smiling?" The contents of the pot were beginning to simmer, so he turned off the heat.
A shrug. "I'm used to it."
That… made sense. He hadn't had that much to be happy about after he'd met Daisuke, and Rihito just didn't smile as much as, say, Kaito.
Miyuki came home just then, and she'd barely taken her shoes off, the words 'I'm home' leaving her lips, before she saw Rihito. Her eyes lit up, a wide grin on her face. Which was a little strange, because Miyuki only reacted like that (and not even to this degree) with her brother, not him.
He'd only talked with her for a few seconds before Rihito found himself crashing into the ground a couple of feet away from her. He got to his feet, glaring, but not feeling as irritated as he could have been.
It didn't matter if the reins were white or red, or how Rihito was affected by them – Daisuke would still be Daisuke.

Date: Dec. 31st, 2010 08:28 am (UTC)Because I so wanted to see this when Kaito was in heat, haha. I love Rihito cooking for them and making sure Miyuki had something good to eat.
The sparkling! *flails*
The contents of the pot were beginning to simmer, so he turned off the heat.
I'm trying to figure out if there's some deep meaning behind this sentence. XDD
Are you going to write more Yoroshiku Master, or have you exhausted your plotblunnies?
Also, there needs to be a Yoroshiku Master section at ffnet, yeah? :3 I've seen sections with only 1 fic. X3;;

Date: Dec. 31st, 2010 08:41 am (UTC)XDD I love what's canon in this series!
Nope, no significance to the sentence, though I guess it could look like it. It's in there so that the fic isn't completely just 'talking heads'. XDD
I want to write mooore for this series but the only other plotbunny I've got of this is trying to figure out what would have to happen to make Daisuke call Rihito by name. :(
First there needs to be fic of Yoroshiku Master on ff.net! D: *goes to post*

Date: Dec. 31st, 2010 09:31 pm (UTC)No plotbunnies for the main character? XD; I suppose Kurumi and Kaito's relationship is a bit too easy for me (and we get to see so much of it already).
Have you written ffnet to add a new category? :D

Date: Jan. 3rd, 2011 07:50 am (UTC)No, I don't think so. Rihito and Daisuke are a lot more interesting for me to write. :3
No, not yet. Been too busy doing the monster-sized posts. XDD
