Fandom: Original fiction
Summary: Shodin makes his point.
Rating: T
Notes: Mild swearing.
Romance AU! 8D
Human!Marland, eeeeee! Let's just say Shodin and Marland are on Earth, Marland is a... security guard, apparently. S'what he's telling me, and Shodin was found beaten to a pulp on his doorstep.
Since Shodin isn't from another world here, his speech and mannerisms are also different. Still has the memory loss though. Actually, Marland's kinda different too, since his backstory doesn't exist anymore either. XD;
Yup, just increased my interest in Searching again. XDD
Whhhhyyyyy can't this be canon? ;____;
Genre: Romance
Word count: 547
Status: Complete
Shodin was frowning when he came over to the table, and Marland quirked an eyebrow at him. Dumping himself in the chair opposite, Shodin sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"I need to talk to you."
"Yeah...?" There had been a weird note of finality to Shodin's words, and the other guy was alternating between looking away and then staring at him intensely when they made eye contact. It made Marland squirm seeing that, so he prodded at his dinner.
"I like you."
Marland's head snapped up and he dropped his fork on the steak, the clatter and the eventual slip of the cutlery giving him a much needed distraction. It had disappeared under the table and he ducked his head under it, groping for it. When he finally came back up, he could feel his blood rushing around his head, his heart beating quickly, and he knew it was stupid to pretend that it had anything to do with his ass being higher than his head for a couple of seconds.
"What?"
Rolling his eyes, Shodin repeated the phrase. "I. Like you, okay? You're an idiot and you're awkward about... everything, really, but that's just... That's just what I love about you." Shodin looked away, playing with a couple of strands of his hair.
...What the hell were you supposed to say to that? Marland opened his mouth a couple of times, then swallowed, closing it again. No, seriously, what were you supposed to say to that?
Shodin glanced at him from the corner of his eyes, and then closed them, chuckling hard enough to bring his head forward. Shaking his head, Shodin stood up slowly, the scrape of the chair sounding loud and ominous in the entirely too silent room. He made his way over slowly, wearing his grin that had become so familiar to Marland like his own skin, easy and gentle.
When Shodin reached him, he perched himself on the edge of the table, nudging the plate away with a finger first, his hands resting on the table beside his thighs. Even like that, Marland sitting down, their heads were still pretty close in height.
Grin still in place, Shodin reached forward, fingers brushing Marland's chin, stopping lightly just before they touched his ear. Almost like there was a connection between them, a bond, Marland moved forward without being told, his entire focus on Shodin. There was a moment of uncertainty, Marland nearly moving back (because what did he know? Why was he-?) but he knew Shodin, trusted him, and he let himself be guided, Shodin leaning in to close the gap.
Marland could smell a mix of the steak that Shodin had been cooking, and his deodorant and Marland - wasn't really - the kissing was weird. Having his lips gently pressed up against something, hearing Shodin breathing right there, feeling Shodin's body heat right there -
He felt Shodin smile against him before Shodin pulled away, sliding to the side, tucking his head again Marland's neck and bringing his arms up to rest on his shoulders.
Marland felt paralysed for a few seconds, so completely unused to being touched. But this, at least he knew how to respond to. Slowly, he brought his arms up to encircle Shodin's waist.

Dialogue? What dialogue? XDD And who cares whether this should be three pages long.
Started off normally but wow, the end is definitely not my usual style. \o/ Yey!
