Rai knows Frankenstein’s busy with the school; he can hear his thoughts as he makes sure everything is running as it should be, planning in advance for things that might happen, adjusting for what already has.

There’s a pile of laundry that needs to be done, and Rai’s sure he can manage that. He follows the list of things to do in Frankenstein’s mind, and soon enough, it’s almost ready.

It’s as the tumble dryer is finishing up that he senses M-21 moving about the house, except… It’s different from usual. A little confused as well as curious, like M-21 hadn’t been living in the house for a few days already.

There’s an edge to M-21’s aura, like when Rai awakened him, and one he hasn’t felt since Muzaka…

M-21 is heading straight for him, curiosity driving him, and it has to be the noise from the tumble dryer that has his attention.

A few minutes later, M-21 pokes his head into the room, his eyes slitted and his hands claw-tipped.

Rai smiles at him, not making eye contact, and then turns to pull the clothes out. They’re warm and soft to the touch and he knows M-21 is following his every move.

M-21 edges towards him and Rai glances at him. His attention is on the pile of clothes and Rai doesn’t do anything as M-21 scrambles up onto the dryer, sniffing at the pile of clothes, before curling up on top of them, sighing.

When Frankenstein returns home, he finds them both in the laundry room, M-21 sleeping on top of his dryer and Master petting M-21’s head.

He doesn’t mind much - nothing was damaged in the process and neither of them made a mess.

He will have to find out what caused M-21 to go instinctual though, but he can do that later.
