Uncharted Terra [Chapter 2]

Sarutobi started at the machine, a short, safe distance away from it. Two Chuunin who had just finished gate duty had brought it in. One had carried a man with black hair and start armour over his shoulder while also helping his partner to drag and guide the strange looking bike back to Konoha.
They had told him the bike moved like a train – and nearly made as much noise as one too. That was how they had discovered the presence of the man in the first place. The two could have gotten back sooner but they didn’t know how to operate the bike but even if they did, using an unknown machine was reckless. Who knew if there were any tricks or techniques on them to stop anyone bar the person who put the justu there in the first place from using it.
The bike was far different from the occasional bikes that were seen being ridden on the streets of Konoha: far bigger and heavier wheels; its body wasn’t just a metal frame holding the wheels together but was put on like armour; it had no pedals to speak of; and even the handlebars and seat looked different. Overall, it had almost nothing in common with the bikes that Sarutobi was used to. The only reason it was tentatively being called a bicycle was because it had two wheels and under all that armour, it still held the basic shape of one.
Anther curious thing that the Chuunin had reported was that the back end of the bike had spat out clear red fire when it had been moving. In more ways than one, it was like a modern piece of machinery. But the size of it! It was so small and if it had an engine like Satutobi suspected (how else was it supposed to move?), the one who had created must have been a genius.
The Professor part of his brain wanted to take it apart to see how it worked. That same part had also noted that he couldn’t detect any jutsu placed on the machine. The ninja part of him wanted to strip it down for different reasons – what could they use the interesting part for? And the Hokage part of him was split in two. One half wanted the machine to be destroyed because there was a large chance that it was dangerous. If the creator had been able to make this, what else could he or she have made? What if those creations were hidden somewhere in the machine? The other half wanted to keep it safe for the now-prisoner because, if one person was able to have this kind of technology, if Konoha was able to ally with his people, they would hopefully be able to bargain and have access to some of these creations.
One last thing had been mentioned at the end of their report: the rider had red eyes. If that were so, was he possibly related to Kurenai? Or maybe, he was someone that Itachi had missed all those years ago.
They would find out once the man woke up.
