M-21 was murmuring in his sleep. Tao couldn’t make out what he was saying, his own mind still fuzzy but he turned over, wrapping an arm around M-21, feeling Takeo do the same from the other side.

M-21 settled down, quietening.

It didn’t last for long, M-21′s breathing sharpening.

Nightmare? Probably. Tao hummed, rubbing small circles M-21′s back.

“We’re here,” he heard Takeo say. “You’re safe.”

“Nnn…”

M-21 relaxed, his breathing easing, and Tao snuggled up closer to make sure M-21 knew he was there before drifting off to sleep again.
