Set early in the second season. Spoiler for the end of the first season and mild spoiler the first episode in the second.
For some reason, whenever I try to imagine Kelly's voice to get her characterisation, she keeps slipping in to sounding like she has a cold…
I have a feeling this may have another part to it, but I'm not sure what it is yet.

Kelly stared at Simon, eyebrows up and her head tilted down slightly. The air stank of rotting meat and smoke, and she could see a few burning cars from her viewpoint on the roof. The sky was overcast, dark clouds blanketing everything and Kelly was trying to remember if that was how the sky had looked when they'd gotten their powers.

"What do you mean it's a zombie apocalypse?" They couldn't find Alisha or Curtis, and Kelly and Simon had found their probation officer in a pool of his own blood a few streets away, his throat ripped out and several chunks of his flesh missing. At least they hadn't killed him this time. Again.

Simon fidgeted with the cuff of his shirt, his head down. "W – well, all the signs point to it being one: the lurching, the groaning, the fact that people don't stay dead…"

She snorted, crossing her arms. "That's Nathan though; he doesn't count."

"He recovered faster than usual this time," he pointed out hesitantly, looking up at her.

Okay, he had a point, but it wasn't like they'd tested how long Nathan took before he came back from the dead. The other injuries had been more fatal than a bite too. She didn't understand why he seemed to be following the mob of other people though. In the distance, yet another car alarm went off.

Making a noise of frustration, she stalked away from the edge of the roof and towards the circle of chairs. "This is someone else's power, isn't it?"

Simon was still peering at the city. "It seems too large scale for it, but… if it was a virus-based zombie infection, that could explain how it came from one person."

Right. She crossed her arms. "So, what do we do?"
