Pfft. Why do I get the feeling I'm writing the start of the next novel?
My...paragraphs are very weird here. =S
Genre: Friendship
Word count: 502
Status: Complete

Shodin was staring at Marland, a concentrated look on his face. Fion was partially curled up on Shodin's lap (partially, because he could only fit his head and front legs across Shodin's), his tail thumping a light, slow beat on the couch.

Marland had gotten used to Shodin staring off into space the past week; he was still getting used to the mix of memories and he'd sometimes stop in his tracks for a minute before he carried on with whatever he had been doing. Shodin hadn't stopped while he crossed the road at least.

One of Fion's ears twitched and he made a sleepy grumble as he stretched. –'So ask him.'-

Marland looked at Shodin properly when he heard that. Ask him what?

Shodin hummed, running a hand through Fion's fur. "You answered my questions," he eventually said, like it explained everything.

Marland snorted. He would have kept asking them if he hadn't.

He could see the smile in Shodin's eyes before he shook his head. "No, not those ones."

Then…what questions was he talking about? And how were some questions different from others?

When Marland kept silent, Shodin chuckled. "It was the questions I asked you about yourself."

Oh, those questions. One of Marland's ears twitched as he tried to remember what exactly had been asked. Apart from his age and if he had any brothers or sisters, none of the other questions came to mind.

Shodin made an acknowledging noise and leaned back on the couch. "Never mind."

Fion growled. –'Ask him.'-

Marland looked at Fion, both his ears pointed at him. Hadn't Shodin already…?

-'And you never would if I didn't.'-

Shodin sighed, shaking his head. "As always." He gazed at the window curtains for a few seconds before he glanced back at Marland, a warm smile on his face.

"I was wanting to ask if you wanted me to return the favour but…hm. If you can't remember those questions, is there anything about me that you want to know?"

Marland stared at him, his eyes wide and his mouth hanging open. That was what Shodin wanted to ask?

He grumbled to himself, his ears starting to sink to the side.

There wasn't anything else he wanted to know about Shodin. Marland already knew what he needed to know: Shodin didn't hate him, and he wanted to live with him. Everything else wasn't as important.

He hadn't spent that much time thinking about what he wanted to know about Shodin – most of their time was spent recovering, lazing in front of the TV, and getting used to each other again.

And he felt weird asking Shodin about himself, his past before he ended up on Torpin. Wouldn't that just remind him about stuff he couldn't see or do anymore?

"Can't think of anything," he admitted.

Shodin hummed, though his smile didn't change. "Well, if you do, ask and I'll answer them."

Marland wasn't sure if he would, but things changed, even if the person wasn't aware of it.

And then the questions don't get asked. Of course. XDD; Shodin remembers all the questions asked (and the ones that weren't) but it'd be a bit weird if he dictated what questions Marland should ask.

There should be a part two to this, but I think it'll be tiny. The start off point is, anyway. XD;;

This could be the beginning of a new novel. XD

Oooh, Fion. And Shodin. Separate. :D So they can do that all the time?

Shodin hadn't stopped while he crossed the road at least.
Good. XD

Haha, loved Fion prompting Shodin~

Then…what questions was he talking about? And how were some questions different from others?
XDDDDDD

Haha, sounds like Marland has forgotten all about them. =P

This one-side conversation that we hear between Fion and Shodin's a lot of fun. XD

I figured that was what Shodin wanted to ask. ;3

Aw~

Haha, and then no questions got asked. =P

I knoooow~ Except, I'd have to put the extra into the proper canon and that would be...weird, I think. XDD;; But the first...two paragraphs could be used as the start of the next novel. XDD;;

:D Yup! It makes things easier if you have two sets of eyes and can communicate nearly instantly over any distance. Not that they'd get too far from each other but... (*suddenly has an image of them trying to find each other after they've wandered a bit too far. 'What do you see?' 'Trees. And a bird. And a big rock.' '...Okay, do you think you can find the river we were just at?')

XD Haha, it was also based on my own memory of the questions. *could barely remember any of them.

Of course. XDD Hopefully one question will be asked if/when I get around to it! But we'll have to see how that goes. XD;;
