I did say Shodin's a touchy person. :3
Genre: Romance

Shodin woke up slowly, aware that he was in bed with someone first before he realised he was awake. Burying his head further into Marland's shoulder, he tightened the arm draped around the other man's chest. He considered drifting back to sleep, but Marland moved under him, the shoulder under Shodin's head tensing.
With a smile growing on his face, Shodin went up on an elbow to watch Marland wake up.
Marland, as always, scrunched up his eyebrows together and frowned just before he woke up. He then blearily stared at Shodin before he made a grumbling noise and started to rub the bridge of his nose.
"Morning."
"Mornin'," was the sleepy reply. Marland's movements suddenly stopped and he peered at Shodin through his fingers.
Shodin knew that look extremely well. He huffed and gave Marland a little shove. "No, I'm not rethinking our relationship."
Marland didn't respond and merely flicked his eyes away, his face too controlled, too expressionless.
He really was so awkward sometimes. "C'mon," Shodin said, pulling the covers back. Marland yelped at the cold air that swooped under the blanket. "Breakfast."
Marland made more grumbling noises under his breath and curled up as soon as Shodin got out of bed. Shodin eyed him for a couple of seconds before he decided to not attempt to drag Marland off the bed – he wasn't a morning person anyway.

Shodin had just sat down at the kitchen table with a mug of hot chocolate in front of him when Marland stumbled out of their bedroom. He spotted Shodin instantly and cautiously made his way over. He slipped into one of the chairs across from Shodin and pulled over the mug of coffee that had been waiting for him.
Marland then proceeded to ignore everything around him, staring down at his mug.
They didn't say anything for a few minutes, Shodin waiting to see if Marland would talk first. Except, Shodin knew Marland wouldn't bring it up if it were up to him.
With a sigh, he got up and went over to Marland's side of the table. Before Marland could bolt or duck, Shodin loped an arm around his neck in a half-hug.
Marland froze, but he didn't try to pull away. He didn't relax either; it was only after Shodin had started to consider letting go –Marland clearly wasn't comfortable- that Marland took a shaky breath and leaned into him.
Shodin hummed into Marland's hair, a smile on his lips. They stayed like that for a while, Shodin only turning his head away to sip at his drink while Marland fiddled with his own mug.
Eventually, Marland shook his head slowly, careful not to dislodge Shodin. "What're your questions?" he asked, a resigned note in his voice.
Shodin chuckled, one corner of his mouth lifting up. "I don't really have any," he replied honestly.
He received an incredulous look for that.
"If you don't want it, then you don't want it," he repeated what he'd said the night before. There wasn't much else that needed to be said after that.
"But you - everyone wants it!"
"And you don't."
Marland gaped at him. He then sighed and covered his face with a hand. "Right. I shouldn't expect you to – you're always…" He trailed off, huffing a laugh. After a second's pause, Marland slipped an arm around Shodin's waist and pulled him close for a proper hug.
"Thanks," Marland muttered into his shoulder.
"What for?"
"For being, ugh, I dunno."
Shodin failed to smother his snickers.
"Oh, shut up."

*snerk* I hadn't realised I'd essentially written the same ending for this part and Investigation. Then again, Marland does need reinforcement, so, hopefully this is okay. XD;; And he's not functioning with an awake brain in either parts, poor him.
*facepalm* Shodin~, must you just accept everything at face-value? :P
Since it seems like it's never going to be touched upon *dry look at Shodin* Marland's dated a couple of people before but because of what happened in those relationships, he ended up equating touch = will lead to sex. Do Not Want. D: So yeah.

Date: Jun. 8th, 2011 07:09 am (UTC)I love, love, how Shodin knows Marland so well and can pretty much tell what's on Marland's mind just by a look. <3
Marland made more grumbling noises under his breath and curled up as soon as Shodin got out of bed.
Heeee, he sounds cute. XD; Maybe he's a little cold because Shodin's not there. =P
Shodin's so accepting that it's mostly just reinforcement. XD; But that's good for Marland!
