Takeo sighed into his sink, M-21 standing next to him, both of them cleaning the plates. Tao was upstairs with the children, playing on the computers, while Frankenstein was in the living room with them, reading over some documents.
The living room door opened; Takeo glanced over his shoulder and saw Tao waltzing in, so he turned his attention back to the dishes.
"Hey, dad, can we bring snacks upstairs?"
Takeo dropped the plate he was holding, soapy water splashing everywhere.
"Of course not," Frankenstein chided him lightly, not looking up. "You'll make a mess."
Why wasn't – Wasn't Frankenstein going to - Where was the menacing aura??
Tao sighed dramatically. "We won't! I'll make sure of it!"
Frankenstein peered at Tao over the top of his glasses. "Well, you do know how to treat computers…"
"Awesome!" Tao said with a laugh before practically pouncing on the fridge. He left with an armload of snacks while Takeo gaped after him. "Thanks, dad!"
Frankenstein smiled at Takeo, a trace of his aura already darkening the room. "Are you going to clean that up?"
"Uh, yeah…" Takeo muttered, nodding in thanks as M-21 handed him a dry kitchen towel.
What just happened?
