The Apple showed Leonardo a lot of things –machinery that he could have never thought of in his wildest dreams, details of how technology could progress- but there was one particular piece of information that he learned about that did not make him happy, however.
It was a far-distant future, yet Ezio was there -albeit in a different body- and he was alone. The Apple did not tell him why (except it did in whispers, but Leonardo could not understand why 'Spirit' was such a persistent theme or the images that traversed between the present day and the future) but that did not matter to him – Ezio needed his help.
How though? He could not extend his life…
The Apple showed him something else, almost with an impatient air: it unfurled like a play in Leonardo's mind, of just what exactly the Apple could do.
Yes, that would work.

Yes, the Apple is a time-machine. I don't care. :P Immortal!Leonardo waiting for Ezio!Desmond would bring its own problems and I don't want them both broken. D: That, and I want Leonardo to go, 'Oh, my, look at all this machinery! *geeks out*' XDD;;;;
Using 'Spirit' instead of 'Animus' since the real Leonardo knew some Latin. :333
