"Why are we wearing these masks?" Regis muttered into his earpiece as they chased the latest Union grunts over the rooftops. It was clear that the masks were hiding nothing - but asking was useless. The culprit for them had a sense of humour that Regis would never understand.

"Why?" Tao's repeated, "It's because - hey, number 5 - number 2 is gonna need your assistance soon. Back him up please."

"Understood."

"Anyway, as I was saying - it's because of you."

Regis nearly missed his next jump, stumbling slightly. "What?" he yelped.

"It's because of you," Tao repeated. "Is the signal cutting out? Huh, I'll need to check that out later...

"In Lukedonia you were wearing a handkerchief to hide your identity - kinda cool but not, hm, 'elegant'?"

That short snort of laughter was M-21, Regis was sure it.

He - that - these masks were because of him?

"Anyway! We'll talk about this later - we got Union people to catch! Let's goooo!"

Regis winced, but nodded, doubling his efforts to cut off the Union grunt he was following.

He had a feeling he wasn't going to be allowed to forget this for a long time...
