Takeo raised his eyebrows when he saw Tai-eun on the kitchen counter, moving in circles, its head pointed inwards. He was standing beside it, still looking paler than usual (still refusing to hibernate), gazing down at it. Tai-eun wasn't moving like it was eating something, more like it was investigating something, but…it had seen everything in the kitchen before so what…?
Takeo walked over to see what had interested it. There was something black in the centre of Tai-eun's coils and Takeo saw a cross engraved on its surface before it started to move. Tai-eun stopped, nudging the black thing with its nose.
Now that Takeo was closer, he could see that it was oval-shaped and – the cross lifted up, still connected to the main body on one end. Takeo couldn't see how it would be able to move though, as it didn't have a chain or…
He watched as miniature wings sprouted from its back. They fluttered, tilting the body to the side, only rising off the counter for a second. Its second attempt was more successful, except it veered off and collided into Tai-eun's coils. When it didn't slide off like Takeo expected it to, he ducked his head to look at its underside. There was one thin black line hooked over Tai-eun's coil, securing it in place.
If that was what Takeo thought it was, then… "A brooch?"
"Yes."
The brooch let go of Tai-eun and hovered there, its wings flapping. Tai-eun reached forward and they touched noses; Takeo assumed the deeper, bell-like sound was the brooch's.
As soon as they'd finished, the brooch (and they would need to think of a name for it) went to the back of Tai-eun and rested itself there, its wings folding back into its body.
"Do you know what it eats?" Takeo asked, looking at him.
"No," he responded. "That's why we're in the kitchen."
Ah. That made sense. As they started to bring out items to see if it would interest the brooch, Takeo hoped its food would be something Frankenstein wouldn't mind losing.

The fact the brooch wasn't originally made OF something makes things interesting… I have no idea what it eats.
Uh, if the naming convention is the same, the brooch would be beulochi-geomjeongsaeg? I think I need to make a different name or figure out how to shorten it…
Seeing how the brooch's parents are Rai and Frankenstein… It looked like it was made from Dark Spear stuff and it had been made as a seal for Rai, so it could be good as an extra precaution for Rai (except he breaks his seals) or Frankenstein when he's losing himself to the Dark Spear. Unless he ends up calling the brooch to him and controlling it. On the other hand, the seal part could help keep it separate from the Dark Spear.
