The trio come home to find their beds have been rumpled and they’re confused, since it’s been drilled into them to make their beds since their time at the Union. They passed a mess in the living room, but the children had come over, so that’s nothing new.
They first go to Takeo’s room, whose room is the closest to the stairs. The bed is rumpled. He gives M-21 a confused look, and Tao’s the next one to open his room, since he hadn’t noticed their pause and his room is closest to the balcony.
His bed is rumpled too.
The two turn to stare at M-21 and after a brief hesitation, M-21 opens his bedroom, which is in the centre of the floor, an equal distance from the stairs and balcony.
Raizel-nim is there, sleeping under M-21′s covers.
They freeze, but it’s not like they would wake up Raizel-nim while he slept.
M-21 exhales, squares his shoulders, and goes in.
Takeo and Tao watch as he goes over and…straightens the blanket, making sure Raizel-nim is tucked in properly.
"C’mon," M-21 murmurs as he leaves, closing the door behind him, "Frankenstein’ll want to know where he is."
They make sure to keep the children distracted from noticing Raizel-nim is missing that night, as well as keeping them as quiet as they can.
