Uncharted Terra [Chapter 1]
Nov. 25th, 2007 08:55 pmFandom: Storm Hawks/ Naruto
Summary: Dark Ace finds himself in a place where no-one has heard the terms 'Terra', 'Crystals', 'Sky Knights', or 'Cyclonia'.
Rating: K
Notes: It was too weird for me to use 'Dark Ace' so I went and abused 'he' instead.
This was meant to be a one-shot but it really didn't turn out that way.
Really short beginning but hopefully the later chapters won't be.
I kept on hearing Dark Ace's voice narrating this as I read over it. ^ ^;
Shyeah, so much for starting on Thursday.
Genre: General
Word count: 530
Status: Work in progress
Prompt: 037: Sound
Dark Ace travelled over the Terra, having a slightly foreboding feeling. This was one of the biggest -if not the biggest- Terra he'd ever seen or been on. He had scanned the area before landing and he hadn't see the end of the of it. It was like it went on forever. So he landed to see what made this Terra so different.
Thick trees lined his path as he passed them and the sounds he could sometimes hear over the roar of his Switchblade weren’t anything that he had heard before. The roots alone were big enough for him to have to dodge around them every few seconds.
So he was on an uncharted Terra. He knew the areas around Cyclonia like the back of his hand, as well as the areas around the Terras that were under Cyclonian rule. He had been travelling to Terra Rex and the route there was one with no complications. This place was unexpected.
Now, who lived here?
His eyes flicked to the side where he thought he saw something moving. He swerved to the right and continued on going.
There. Again. Something flashed in the trees above him. It was actually in the branches and he couldn't hear another engine. His eyes narrowed; he knew of one person who could do such a thing.
Seeing a small clearing in front, he headed towards it. As soon as he reached it, he did a 180 turn but kept the engine running. There was a small break in the canopy of leaves and he nodded to himself. This was the first place that he’d seen here that he’d be able to get into the sky with minimal effort. And if it was who he thought it was, he would need it to get into the air quickly.
He narrowed his eyes at the suspicious rustling in the lower branches. “Come out, Sky Knight. I know you’re there.” He kept his hands loose on the handlebars. You never knew with the Storm Hawks what plan had been made.
There was a pause and then two people dropped to the ground, a little distance away from him. They watched him warily, their postures defensive. They also weren’t anyone that he recognised and a quick scan didn’t show any obvious Cloaking Crystal either. They were apparently wearing a uniform, which included a half-metal, half-fabric headband for some reason, but it wasn’t anything like he had seen before.
“State your business,” the one on the left said, gruffly. It was then that Dark Ace realised that what he thought was a semi-loose posture, actually meant that their hands were reaching for a pocket strapped to their leg. They weren’t large enough to carry weapons but they were still sizeable enough for crystals.
“That is of no concern of yours.”
At those words, the two tensed and reached for their pockets. He didn’t let them. In one smooth movement, he pulled out his energy blade and fired two blasts.
He felt a second’s worth of satisfaction before the two ‘poofed’ smoke and revealed two destroyed pieces of wood.
That was all he had before a sharp pain erupted at the back of his head and his sight whirled in brightness.

I thought it'd be like that, but then I was thinking of Terra Zartacla (prison) *go looks it up* D: Never mind. I s'pose that was because it was from Aerrow's point of view so it seemed huge. I'd also looked up Cylonia but that reeeally wouldn't work for a comparison.

Oh well, it doesn't really matter. :D (And no, Cyclonia doesn't really work with the comparisons, being a huge tower and all.)

Date: Nov. 25th, 2007 10:40 pm (UTC)And that's also another reason why they're not Sound ninja - I have a bad feeling I'd end up picking up a few of the ideas we were talking about yesterday. They're all yours. (D: And I really can't type at the moment)
With the addition of about one-thousand spire things that look like joint up termite/anthills.
