Takeo jerked awake. Something - soft and furry was on his bed, nosing around his collar.

He opened his eyes with a soft chuckle, seeing the puppy there. “What’re you doing here?” he asked, petting the puppy’s head. The puppy didn’t tend to go into people’s rooms, though he’d been banned from Tao’s room and M-21 kept his door closed.

The puppy leaned into his touch, wagging his tail, then grabbed a mouthful of Takeo’s top and tugged.

“Hey!” Takeo scooped up the puppy before he fell off the edge of the bed.

The puppy wriggled for a second before grasping a finger light enough not to break the skin with his teeth and tugged again.

“You want to show me something?” Takeo guessed, setting the puppy down. The puppy headed for the door then looked back at him.

He smiled, getting his slippers on as the puppy raced back to him. “I’m coming, don’t worry.”

The puppy led him downstairs and to the living room. He didn’t go to his bed but to the door leading to the garden. He was almost dancing on his paws.

“You need to go outside?” Though the answer was pretty clear and the puppy barked at him.

As soon as Takeo opened the door, the puppy zoomed outside to do his business.

“We should probably make you a dog door,” Takeo murmured to himself. That way someone wouldn’t have to come back during the breaks to check on him.

Though the last time they’d tried to put a collar on him, he’d whined non-stop until he got it off and destroyed it.

The puppy was back a few minutes later and after getting a few headscratches from Takeo, curled up in his bed and went to sleep.

Takeo smiled at the image and went to bed himself once he’d locked the door.

Takeo jerked awake with a groan when a wet nose pushed itself into his face. “I just got to sleep.”

As soon as the others were awake, they were going to install a dog door.
