Tao turned his head to look behind them as he, Takeo and M-21 left the lab room they'd been sparring in. "Hey, can you hear that?"
"No," M-21 said. Not that that was unusual since Tao's hearing was better than his or Takeo's.
"Hmm... It sounds like..." Tao swerved and went deeper into the lab without explaining.
M-21 shared a look with Takeo and they followed him, small smiles on their lips.
M-21 tilted his head the further they walked, hearing the faint echoes of something.
"Music?" Takeo murmured, his eyebrows drawing in in concentration.
"Mm!" Tao said, nodding. "Piano, I think?"
"If someone wants to listen to music down here, they can," M-21 said. It was their decision, even when they had their own room where they could listen to it. Though there was no reason for someone to go this deep into Frankenstein's lab just to listen to music. Not when they'd passed more than enough empty rooms already.
Tao shook his head. "I don't think they're listening to music; I think they're playing."
Playing...? M-21 hadn't heard enough music to be able to tell the difference between a recording and a live performance, but if Tao thought so...
They reached an intersection of three different directions and Tao's head twisted as he tried to pinpoint where the music was coming from. "Aha!" He dived to the corridor on the right.
The music was getting clearer and Tao stopped at an ajar door, grinning as he pointed at it. There was enough space to see inside and...
"Huh."
Inside was a grand piano, big enough to take up most of the room. It wasn't so big to hide who was playing it.
Raizel-nim.
And of course he knew they were there, glancing at them as his hands continued to flow across the keys without a pause.
"Hey!" Tao greeted him as he went in, M-21 and Takeo following him. "How long you been playing?"
"A while."
For Raizel-nim, that could mean anything.
Tao peered at Raizel-nim's hands as they continued to move over the piano. "You picked this up from Boss?"
Raizel-nim nodded. "And Suyi."
That made sense. And...M-21 knew that look on Tao's face. He huffed, already looking for somewhere to sit before-
"Can we stay and listen?"
-Tao asked, because he knew Tao would, and-
"Yes."
-he knew what Raizel-nim was going to say.
Takeo reached the chairs before he did, carrying them over as Tao whooped.
"Can I record you too? Maybe not of you, but the song you're playing, and then I can-"
M-21 sat down next to Takeo as Tao explained what he was planning, gesturing as well. When Tao got like that, they weren't going to leave for a while.

It's always funny to realise how recent some inventions are. The piano was invented in the 1700s so there went my explanation that Rai picked up how to play from Frankenstein when they were in Rai's mansion.
