M-21 narrowed his eyes, his skin prickling. Shit, they'd been tracked down already? He span around to greet the growing black and purple miasma behind him.
He heard his double's sharp intake of breath. M-21 only had enough time to plant himself between them and transform when a shape materialised from the centre of Dark Spear's aura.
It was Frankenstein.
His Frankenstein. The Frankenstein in front of him was in a black suit, with the long tails around his collar rather than a tie.
A second shape appeared behind Frankenstein and M-21 breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of Raizel-nim. ...Unless Frankenstein had changed in the meantime and this Raizel-nim was also a member of the Union. The entire world was fucked if both of them were in the Union.
Frankenstein smiled and that was the smile M-21 recognised, full of warmth. Frankenstein took a step forward but stopped, his gaze flicking over M-21's shoulder as M-21 heard a whimper.
M-21 span around, letting go of his transformation. His double's eyes were wide again as he trembled, staring at Frankenstein.
"It's okay," M-21 murmured, not sure if he should block his double's view or not. Knowing where someone was was better than not. "He won't hurt you. He's my Frankenstein, not your Doctor Lee."
His double seemed to calm down bit by bit still staring at Frankenstein, and M-21 could only guess how hard a hold Frankenstein had on Dark Spear to make sure his aura didn't hiss out like it usually did when he was pissed off.
"M-21," Frankenstein said, and he glanced over his shoulder. Frankenstein was still looking at his double, at the scars, and his expression was blank though his lips were pursed. "Where is he?"
No question who Frankenstein was talking about. M-21 pointed down the direction he and his double had come.
"Master," Frankenstein said, giving a short bow, "I'll be right back."
When Raizel-nim nodded, Frankenstein strode down the corridor, his footsteps echoing around them.
M-21's double watched Frankenstein leave with wide eyes. "Where - where's he going?"
"He's going to kill Doctor Lee," M-21 said, peering at Raizel-nim, who gave him a small smile back.
"He will be fine," Raizel-nim said. "There was no need to unseal him."
Oh, if there was only one enemy... But that enemy was-
"He won't!" his double burst out. "Doctor Lee-"
"Hurt you," Raizel-nim interrupted, his voice soft, and that really was all that needed to be said.
"Why..." M-21's double was glancing between them, looking so damn lost and confused, and was this what he'd been like when Frankenstein and Raizel-nim had taken him in?
"Our Frankenstein is protective over humanity," Raizel-nim said. "To know a version of himself had hurt people for personal gain..." Raizel-nim shook his head.
The two seemed to be taking alternate universes in their stride, but it was Frankenstein and Raizel-nim, and they'd already created a portal to even get there in the first place.
"Are there others?"
M-21 snorted. "You could say that..." He couldn't keep the smile off his face though as his heart soared: his Frankenstein and Raizel-nim here, and he was going home.

The other way this could have gone was M-21 killed alt!Frankenstein so he and the alts don't have run to the surface. So yeah, this isn't set in stone yet. XD; This would be the perfect ending.
On the one hand, Doctor Lee's an Elder; on the other hand, Doctor Lee hurt the alternate version of Frankenstein's kid. On the third hand, Frankenstein and Rai are still connected so if things go awry, Rai can unseal him anyway.
