Summary: Tao gets a new toy for the puppy to play with.

"Heeey!" Tao called out, the puppy dancing around his feet, like he knew Tao had brought him something. And this time Tao hadn't brought food, so the puppy couldn't be smelling that. Maybe his scent did change when he'd brought something home for the puppy.
"Ack, just let me-" Tao stepped over the puppy with a laugh, making sure not to trip over him. "You keep doing that and I'll pick you up instead," Tao mock-scolded.
The puppy dropped down onto his front legs and barked at him, his butt wriggling in the air.
"Picking you up it is!"
At that signal, the puppy leaped towards him and Tao grabbed him with his cables, swinging the puppy a little as he walked into the living room. "What do you think I got ya, huh? What do you think?"
The puppy barked again, his paws paddling the air.
"Do you think it's fooood?" Tao teased, unpacking the other stuff he'd bought. A couple of snacks for him, a couple of snacks for the children, and a couple more toys for him to play around with and modify while he waited for his system checks to finish.
Tao set the puppy back down onto the floor, dropping the bag next to him. "What's that?"
The puppy jumped into the bag, almost slamming into a chair leg before Tao moved it out the way. The bag rustled for a few seconds before stopping,
Tao crouched down, his hands behind his back as he grinned at the puppy when he backed out of the bag. "Aww, did ya not find it?"
The puppy studied him for a second and just as he was about to turn away, Tao whipped his hands to the front again. "Tada!"
The puppy cocked his head at the puppet on Tao's hand, taking a step forward and sniffing.
"Rrr," Tao growled as best as he could, bouncing his hand up and down. "What do ya think?"
The puppy continued sniffing before wagging his tail and pouncing.
Tao pulled his hand out of reach. "Fun, right?" He'd made sure to get a puppet that looked like the puppy to boot!
They played like that for a little while, the puppy chasing Tao around the room, following the puppet.
"Aaand, there!" Tao declared, slipping the puppet off and dropping it to the floor. The puppy skidded to a stop and sniffed around the puppet, investigating. When it didn't move, the puppy swatted it with a paw. When that didn't get a response, he picked it up between his teeth and shook it.
"Should have expected that to happen," Tao said with a huff. That was how he acted around his cables. "But! We know you like it," Tao said, retrieving the puppet before the puppy ripped it to shreds.
"I wonder if M'll act the same," Tao mused, studying the puppet in his hands. He'd have to find a wolf version, which wouldn't be too hard to do, but he could always make his own.
