He traced the names on his arms, followed the curve of each line, his nail sometimes catching on a bit of skin. Maybe his finger remembering what he’d once made it do.

Tao. Takeo. Franken. Rai. Seira. Regis.

After each name, he put a face to it, committing them to memory.

It had been what he -his self with memories- had wanted, and he could see why. The people here cared for him, not pushing him too hard when he struggled to remember something, explaining things he wanted to know.

It was the least he could do.

Set before M-21 gets tattoos over the scars to neaten them up and after this. And blank-slate!M-21 would probably start calling Frankenstein and Rai by their nicknames, because their names were kinda long for original!M-21 to put their full names on his arms.
