[uve got a visitor in the garden~ ;)]

M-21 frowned at the text before sighing and heading for his window. Knowing Tao, a stray dog must have caught his scent and followed him home again. There hadn’t been a lot, but there had been enough for Tao to make comments.

[hurry be4 he gets impatient an starts climbing the walls~ XD;;;]

…Dogs couldn’t do that. Everyone else was in the house and who would want to visit him?

He looked out to the garden and -

“Shit-!” he hissed, opening his window and hopping out. “Give a better warning next time, Tao,” he muttered, knowing the asshole could hear him and was laughing at him.

There was a werewolf standing in the middle of the garden, recognisable by the brown wolf-like top half of the body and wearing a pair of white trousers, just able to fit over their legs that ended in paws. The trousers would have made M-21 suspicious already, if he’d been able to see them first past the massive bulk of the werewolf’s upper body, but it was the stripe of long fur that ran from the werewolf’s head all the way down the spine that made it clear who it was. Even though he was a head and shoulders taller than the last time M-21 had seen him.

“Kentas,” M-21 said, “what are you doing here?” Tao had already set up the projectors around their house to make sure the house always looked the same to outsiders, no matter who was there and to make sure no-one else saw them as they dragged their bleeding bodies back from another fight, so he didn’t have to worry about Kentas being seen.

Kentas had a bushy tail in that form as well, and it wagged hard enough to make its own typhoon as soon as he saw M-21.

Kentas didn’t say anything, lunging for him and collecting him in a gigantic paw.

“Hey! Bast-” Tao was definitely laughing at him now as Kentas fled the area, heading towards the sea.

When Kentas cleared some buildings, running across the rooftops, M-21 had a clear view of the moon in the cloudless sky.

Of course it was.

Of course it was the full moon tonight.

“Kentas, where the fuck are you taking me?”

Kentas didn’t answer, didn’t look at him, and…shit. M-21 narrowed his eyes at him. “Oi, asshole, if you can understand me, say something.”

One of Kentas’ ears swivelled in his direction, but that - M-21 hissed as a wide, wet tongue rolled over his head.

Fine. Maybe that transformation meant Kentas couldn’t talk.

“Give me some indication you’re still there.” And wasn’t just reacting to his voice.

He got a wet nose to his forehead this time, Kentas huffing, and shit. It looked like werewolves reacting to the full moon was something that happened.

A part of M-21 was glad to learn that. It meant if he was still thinking under a full moon, he was still human. If he ended up losing his senses during a full moon later… Then he would know he had fully lost his humanity.

“Where are you even taking me?” M-21 grumbled, trying to pull himself out of Kentas’ grasp.

Kentas tightened his hold before relaxing, holding M-21 over his back. M-21 eyed the fur before sighing and holding onto that instead. It was better than being carried liked some toy.

Over the sea and past the closest islands. So Kentas had somewhere in particular he wanted to go.

Kentas moved faster than M-21 so he couldn’t guess where they were.

M-21’s phone buzzed.

[ur heading sw~]

M-21 rolled his eyes. He knew that much. [Helpful. Anything else?]

[ive got the BEST pics~! <3]

“Asshole,” he muttered. He would probably find the pictures printed off and spread over his bed when he got back. Or framed.

Eventually Kentas angled towards one island instead of going around it. It seemed like all the others they’d passed, with a clump of trees at the centre. Kentas jogged through the forest, hopping from tree to tree. M-21 was surprised some of the branches even supported them, but they might have been moving too fast for the branch to hold their full weight.

They made it to a clearing, Kentas huffing as he slowed to a stop. There was a campfire that was just embers to the side, a drawstring bag leaning on a tree close to it.

Was this where Kentas had been staying…?

Kentas looked over his shoulder at him, rubbing his snout over M-21’s face and M-21 wrinkled his nose, pulling away to wipe at his face with a hand. “Get off, I get it.”

He hopped off, looking around. It seemed like Kentas was the only one staying here.

“Oh for f-!” Kentas wrapped an arm around his torso, carrying him again as he lumbered over to the campfire, curling up next to it, a soft rumble in his chest.

“Are you serious.” M-21 stared at up Kentas’ snout. “You took me here just to snuggle?”

He unsurprisingly didn’t get an answer but the content sigh seemed to mean M-21 was right.

“Tao’s never going to let me forget this,” M-21 grumbled. And M-21 wasn’t either. Kentas had done all this while instinctual? Did that mean anything about how Kentas felt about him, or were the wolf instincts completely separate from the werewolf consciousness?

Kentas was already dozing off, his breathing going deeper. M-21 was so buried in Kentas’ fur it was almost a blanket around him and…it was warm, Kentas’ body heat encompassing him.

M-21 tried to get out of Kentas’ grasp, but this time Kentas didn’t move, keeping him in place. He could force his way out, but M-21 didn’t feel the need to. The island was safe, and he was sure Kentas would wake up before he heard someone approaching the camp.

M-21 relaxed into Kentas’ embrace, listening to him breathe.

* * *

The change happened slowly, M-21 only guessing something was happening when Kentas’ breathing shuddered, his hold on M-21 tightening. Kentas’ temperature then shot up, being hot to keep in contact with him.

Trembles rippled out under Kentas’ skin and when M-21 tilted his head back, he saw Kentas’ form shifting back into his humanoid one.

Kentas hummed, nuzzling M-21’s shoulder.

M-21 jabbed an elbow in Kentas’ gut. “Oi.” Maybe now he would get an answer.

Kentas tensed, a growl snapping out of his throat before he relaxed again. Another nuzzle. “…M-21?”

“Finally,” M-21 said, huffing. The sun wasn’t up yet, but maybe it was something else that affected the transformation.

Kentas sat up slightly and looked down at him. “You still have your top on?” He stood up, going towards his bag.

“Of course I do,” M-21 said, sitting up. “I didn’t transform.”

Kentas stilled, looking back at him, his eyes wide. “You didn’t? Why not?”

“I’m not a werewolf.” Of course.

Kentas opened his mouth, paused, and then shook his head. “Right…”

While Kentas pulled his top on, M-21 said, “Why did you bring me here?”

Kentas shrugged, running a hand through his hair, the hair flicking back up into place again instantly. “I’d wanted to see you.”

So the wolf instincts were tied to his consciousness. “Ask next time,” M-21 said, scowling.

At that, Kentas laughed. “I did!”

He remembered-?

“I wouldn’t have brought you here if you hadn’t gone to me or tried to get away.” Kentas grinned at him, revealing sharp fangs.

…Fuck. M-21 sighed. He’d gone to Kentas to see what he wanted, but he hadn’t tried that hard to escape, a little curious what Kentas wanted. “Fine.” He looked around. “So now what?”

“Breakfast!” Kentas paused, studying him. “Unless you need to get back?”

Tao hadn’t texted him yet so everything had to be fine at home. “I can stay for that.”

Kentas brightened again, and M-21 didn’t stop his small smile in return.
