M-21 frowned at his hands as he sat on his bed, exhaling as his nails extended and sharpened. He could be faster; he wouldn’t get much time to react if he was ambushed.
He hadn’t been holding his transformation for that long when his door opened.
“Heeey, M,” Tao called out, and M-21 had just enough time to look up before Tao dropped himself in M-21’s lap.
“…Oi.” He’d let go of his transformation in time, keeping his hands away when Tao sat down so Tao had never been in danger of getting hurt, and with the way Tao was wriggling to make himself more comfortable, Tao knew that too.
Tao was cold. M-21 saw goosebumps over Tao’s neck before the other man leaned back on him.
“You could raise the heating,” M-21 said, huffing. He eyed the laptop Tao was opening. “Or hug your laptop.” That thing generated enough heat on its own to warm Tao.
Tao turned his head enough so M-21 could see his wide-eyed betrayed expression. “Hugging a person is way better from hugging a laptop, M, even I’ll admit that!” He paused. “And my laptop’ll heat me up slower.”
M-21 rolled his eyes. “Which is why you’re here with your laptop.” He still wrapped his arms around Tao’s torso, huffing.
“I’ll get more heat that way,” Tao said, already starting to work. “Okay, joking,” he said, snickering. “But I can work better with a personal hot water bottle anyway.”
“Funny.” He didn’t let go of Tao however, watching him work.
