M-21′s door creaked open and he frowned, listening.

“Hey, M?” he heard Tao whisper.

Oh. That’s who it was. “M’awake,” he mumbled, shuffling back in his bed.

“Okay, cool, because I’d already woken Takeo up last night, so I kinda didn’t want to do it ag-”

“Tao.”

“…Yeah?”

“Get over here.”

“‘Kay.”

It took a few steps for Tao to reach his bed and M-21 lifted his arm. Tao wriggled into the space M-21 made and M-21 wrapped his arm around him, feeling the small trembles running through Tao’s body.

“Thanks, M,” Tao murmured into M-21′s neck.

“S’fine,” he said, already drifting off again.
