Takeo drew in his eyebrows, hearing his door open. Small quick steps, and ah, Tao must have transformed. He opened his eyes in time to see-

He sucked in a breath, arms snapping out and catching-

He blinked, Tao yowling at him, trying to escape his grasp.

“Tao…?”

It was definitely him. The cat was the right size, with black fur and a splash of white over their right ear.

What wasn’t normal was the wings attached to his back, flickering and moving like a black and purple flame.

“…Huh.” He brought Tao close to his chest, Tao settling down with a chirrup, the wings folding back like a bird’s.

So that’s what happened when they were given Dark Spear…
