Once they'd managed to peel Stork off the ceiling, Aerrow asked him what zombies were.
"Zombies are the living dead," Stork started theatrically, voice low. "They experience no pain, no fear and even if they've been damaged, they'll keep coming until they literally can't move any further." He paused, making sure he had their full attention. "They eat brains."
They turned as one to stare at Mr. Woofers; he stared back at them, head cocked to the side. Okay, his eyes were misted over, which Aerrow hadn't noticed before, and it unsettled him a little bit to see that unfocused gaze.
Junko scratched the base of his ear and shrugged. "Well, he seemed fine eating leftovers."
Stork continued to eye Mr. Woofers warily. "They're dead; I doubt they still have any tastebuds."
"So maybe he won't eat brains then," Junko said brightly.
Aerrow could see that Stork was falling back into grudging acceptance the longer Mr. Woofers didn't attack them. It probably helped that sunlight was streaming in through the windows, lighting up the bridge and engulfing Mr. Woofers, showing that it wouldn't be a repeat of Mr. Cheepers. With light, at least. If he reacted to something else on the other hand...
"Just as long as he stays away from me and - " Stork stopped, a heaving gasp replacing what he was going to say. "He's dead - do you know how much bacteria and diseases he's carrying? Do you have any idea what'll be crawling inside of him right now?" Stork's shudder rippled through his entire body, starting at his ear tips and ending at the twitching of his toes. With a will, Stork rushed to a corner of the bridge and came back snapping a pair of bright pink rubber gloves on his hands, an unholy look in his eyes.
"You," he declared as he advanced, "are having a bath."
Mr. Woofers' ears went back at the word, and he whimpered.
