Summary:
The world of Torpin is open, dragging in Others from different worlds. The majority of them are monsters, prone to violence. There are some, however, that are not, and are able to live amongst the human population, if allowed to. Marland should know; he's one of them. His job is to hunt and stop the Others that seek only to destroy what's around them. On one job, a human Other drops through a portal, an event which Marland has never heard of happening before. And that's not the only thing different about the human...

As for the italics thing, I'm going for if the word's in caps, then chances are, it's supposed to be in italics. Similarly, if there's words encompassed by -' '- , then whatever's in between them should be italicised.

"I don't know how or why I have these," –he indicated the marks on his wrists and the bandage around his neck, "and, I want to know." Shodin's hand stopped moving and he sighed, looking away. "Was I being punished for something? If I was, what did I do?" Shodin paused, eyes distant. "Or was it something different?"

How the fuck was he supposed to know?

"That's why I wonder if Poss is involved in that," Shodin continued after a breath. Shodin's hands had encircled his wrist, fingers curled over the mark.

One of Marland's ears flicked at that. Poss had done something and Shodin got blamed for it? Or Shodin had done something because of Poss. Or… There were too many possibilities, and Marland was thinking from the perspective from what he knew about Torpin.

Marland shrugged with his wings. He could easily see Poss attacking someone but… only to defend Shodin. That could be misinterpreted though.

Shodin's hand moved up to his shoulder. "He hates that I've been hurt but, there's a bit of guilt there as well."

Huh. "So… he knows how you got hurt?"

Shodin nodded slowly. "I think he might."

Marland thought over what Poss had said before. Poss had memory problems as well though. They didn't know how Shodin had lost his memory, so Poss might have been affected, but not in the same way as Shodin; he went crazy instead, focusing solely on protecting Shodin.

A small smile. "But I couldn't ask him directly; I was too busy trying to calm him down." That must have been hard, especially if Marland kept continually hurting Shodin, which would have set Poss off again.

"Why aren't you asking now?" It wasn't really like Shodin to not ask questions at the first opportunity.

Shodin's mouth moved, not in a smile, but it was tilted to the side. "I can't hear him anymore, so I'm not sure if he can hear me either."

I'm now on the ninth page, out of fifteen. Hmm. I have a lot of talking and a fair bit of fighting at some point. o____o; I should definitely pass the 50k mark then, but when will I finish?

XDD Well, that's what the marks look like they've been made from. It's an unbroken circle around his wrist. Unless you meant he was actually wearing them right there.

Oh, so more than halfway! That sounds like pretty good pacing since your word count is around 30k, so you seem like where you should be. :3 Though it does sound like you'll go way past the 50k mark!

That's a loooot of days pass! You don't have to write all of them in detail if nothing important happens. But if you do start writing them out, I bet they're going to surprise you. =P
